The Forge Schedule – 2024

Friday

6:00 – 7:00  Arrival

Check-in at the Staff Cabin

Find a cabin and claim your bunk

7:00               Campfire and snack

9:30               Campfire

11:00             Quiet for the night

 

 

Saturday

8:00 – 9:00  Breakfast is served (Hopewell Hall)

10:30             Session               (Campfire pit in front of the Staff Cabin)

Noon – 1:00    Lunch               (at the Staff Cabin)

1:00 – 5:00  Free Time

R and R 

Rest and Relaxation. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the scenery around camp

Fishing at the Pond

Bring your own poles, hooks, bobbers, lures and bait 

                      The pond has a lot of bluegill and some bass

Hiking trails

                    Maps are available at Hopewell Hall

                   Do you know where the spring is for a cool drink of water

                  Have you been up on Vesper Hill

Pickle Ball at the basketball court

1:30 – 3:30  Pistol Shooting at the Gravel Pit (there will be an extra charge to shoot)

                                      9 mm Pistols and ammunition will be provided

DO NOT bring any guns to Camp Otyokwah

4:00               Session

5:00 – 6:00  Supper                (Staff Cabin)

 

 

The Retreat finishes at the end of supper

Things to Bring:

• Bedding
• Sleeping bag works well, blankets are an option
• Mattress provided, and beds are single bunk beds
• Toiletries
• Bring your own Soap, shampoo, towel, wash cloth, toothbrush, …The shower house will be open – showers are divided
• Clothing – Casual attire appropriate
• We suggest, good walking shoes, Shorts are fine, T-shirts .
• Modesty is the rule
• Bring a comfy lawn chair, logs do not have backs, and mine gets tired
• Bring a Bible and something to write on, our speakers, are known to say amazing things
• Digital is fine, but the internet and phone service is sketchy at best

Activities Offered:

• Opportunities to shoot a handgun (Handguns, targets, ammunition, are all provided for an additional fee)
• Opportunities for fishing. Since this is a private lake you do not need a fishing license to fish. You will need to bring your own equipment (pole, reel, line, hooks, bobber, … and bait)
• Opportunities for hiking
• Maps of trails provided
• Opportunities to relax
• Hang out around the fire
• There will be shade somewhere

Things to not bring:

• Do NOT bring any guns.
• No negative attitudes
